The Community Project has a vision that is grounded in the African proverb:
“If you want to travel fast, go alone. If you want to travel far, go together.”
Our vision is that a higher quality of life in the developing world only truly occurs when whole communities thrive.
A community includes everyone — children, adults, and the elderly.
A thriving community includes opportunities for education, training and support, and growing healthy food.
Our mission is to create community schools, community centers, and community gardens in countries where there is deep need. The creation of these crucial structures is carried out with the entire community in mind. Intensive community input, a focus on locally-sourced and sustainable materials, and the employment of locals in building and managing the structures encompass our core values.
We will travel far — together.
